Online Counselling/Psychotherapy Service

Counselling offers you a safe and confidential space where you can talk freely about your concerns without fear of judgement.

Counselling offers you the opportunity to talk with a trained and qualified professional, who will support you through the therapeutic process, enabling you to gain awareness, insights and understanding around your issues. This can be facilitated in multiple ways as each counsellor would have a different way of doing this.

Now, although each Counsellor may have a different approach, there is one rule about counselling that they all follow, and that is:

Counsellors do NOT give advice.

However, your counsellor does support you through exploration of what you would like to do and what changes you would like to make in your life. Counsellors would then explore those options with you and how that would impact your life going forward.

about counselling

Your counselling journey, facilitated by your counsellor, is aimed at helping you feel safe enough to discuss and explore issues that you feel are influencing your life in a negative or unhealthy way; to help you process and work through the feelings that those insights bring up and to explore how you would like to progress further from there.

Throughout this journey, your counsellor will support you with kindness and acceptance, whilst being mindful and respecting your uniqueness and individuality.

Your counsellor will recognise that as a unique individual, no one has lived your life the way that you have lived it and felt the emotions that you have felt and therefore the only person that gets to choose to make any changes, (if that is what you choose), is you.

The ultimate aim for any counsellor is to support you to get to a point where you feel confident enough to navigate through your life and all the emotions and feelings that it brings up, without the aid of a counsellor. (That’s not to say that you may never need for a counsellor again. Within counselling, we counsellors seldom see endings as a hard and fast rule). Clients are always welcome to come back to counselling if they feel they wish to. The aim is just to ensure that client’s feel empowered enough to make whatever choices they feel are realistically healthy for them, whatever those choices may be.
